The military gave me a sense of purpose and two brothers I never expected to find—Ryker and Alex. We've been through things most people wouldn't understand, and I know I can count on them when it matters most.
But there's one person I've never been able to forget. Daisy was my first love, and losing her left a hole in my heart that twelve years couldn't fill. I've spent years trying to move forward, but some memories refuse to fade. And some promises are impossible to forget.

The Quiet One
Hi, I'm Violet. I'm twelve years old, and I've lived in the mountains with Mama for as long as I can remember. I don't talk anymore. I learned a long time ago that being quiet is safer, but that doesn't mean I don't have things to say.

I've spent twelve years hidden away in the mountains of West Virginia, living a life I never chose. My daughter, Violet, is my whole world, and I'd do anything to protect her. She's the reason I've survived this long.
Sometimes I wonder if Tyler still remembers me or if he's forgotten the girl he once called Daisy. I've tried to let go of the past, but some loves are impossible to forget. And lately, I've begun to wonder if there's still a chance for us to find our way home.
